MPLS/IP Traffic Engineering and Carrier Ethernet Services

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Over the last few years, two technologies have come to dominate fixed enterprise networks: multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) and Ethernet. Demand for both MPLS IP / VPN and Ethernet services are booming these days. Carriers, operators and service providers have multiple network technologies to choose from: Standard IP routing, MPLS with Traffic Engineering (MPLS-TE), MPLS Transport Protocol (MPLS-TP) or Carrier Ethernet.

Telecontran’s 3-day Workshop on MPLS/IP Traffic Engineering and Carrier Ethernet Services is designed to provide a comprehensive analysis on MPLS technology, its configuration, network design issues, operations, VPN, traffic engineering, GMPLS, MPLS-TP and how QoS, DiffServ, OAM is supported.

After successful completion of this 3-day workshop participants will be able to

  • Describe the underlying concepts of MPLS, MPLS labels, different label formats and Packet Processing
  • Gain knowledge of MPLS architecture and operation of the MPLS variants as well as designs and configurations in MPLS Networks.
  • Get a solid understanding of the relationship between QoS and DiffServe and how VPN is provisioned in MPLS Network
  • Demonstrate a knowledge on the overview on MPLS-TP, utilisation of MPLS-TP and its OAM Capabilities.
  • Understand the technical interactions of TCP/IP, MPLS and Carrier Ethernet and how MPLS can provide transport services for Carrier Ethernet

COURSE CURRICULUM

This course is aimed to Network Architects, Service Providers, Technical managers, network design engineers, software engineers, telecommunications & ICT installation, commissioning and maintenance engineers and technicians who need a good grasp of the technologies involved in modern IP networks and Layer 2 or 3 network services.
